Ayurveda & Wellness

Authentic retreats, rooted in India's timeless traditions of wellbeing.

Introduction

Journeys centred around wellbeing

A wellness journey in India rarely begins with a treatment room. It begins with a change of rhythm — earlier mornings, longer walks, meals that are considered rather than chosen, and days with fewer things in them. The therapies matter, but they work because of everything arranged around them.

That thinking runs through Ayurveda, naturopathy and nature cure alike. Practice and rest are treated as part of the same routine: yoga and meditation to settle the mind, conscious cuisine prepared to the guidance a guest is given, and time spent outdoors in places chosen because the landscape does some of the work. It is traditional Indian wisdom applied with care, by people who have grown up within it.

We are not simply booking rooms. Each property in this collection is visited, questioned and selected for the integrity of its approach, the calibre of its setting and the way it looks after people once they arrive. Our consultants match the retreat to the traveller — the length of stay, the destination, the depth of programme and the style of travel that suits you.

01Prakriti Shakti

A retreat shaped by nature

Panchalimedu, Kerala · Nature Cure · Yoga & Meditation · Holistic Wellbeing

High in the hills of Panchalimedu, Prakriti Shakti sits where the air is cooler, the mornings arrive slowly and the valley below disappears under cloud for much of the year. The setting is not scenery here; it is part of the programme. Walks, open-air practice and long unbroken views are used as deliberately as any treatment.

The approach is led by naturopathy — rest, natural therapies, movement and food working together rather than in isolation. Guests are guided through a personalised routine by the resident team, with yoga and meditation held through the day and time deliberately left empty between them.

Cuisine is central rather than incidental. Meals are plant-based and prepared with restraint, and the kitchen is treated as an extension of the consulting room. It suits travellers who want a considered, quiet stay and are content to let the mountain set the pace.

02Kalari Rasayana

Ayurveda beside the backwaters

Paravur, Kerala · Ayurveda · Holistic Wellbeing

Kalari Rasayana lies at Paravur, where the backwaters widen and the coconut groves run down to the water's edge. It is an Ayurveda centre first and a place to stay second, and the rhythm of a day here follows the programme rather than an itinerary.

Stays are led by resident vaidyas, who set a personalised course of treatments, diet and daily routine after consultation. Yoga and meditation sit alongside the therapies, and the kitchen cooks to the guidance given for each guest rather than to a menu.

It suits travellers who want traditional practice taken seriously — and who are happy to trade sightseeing for early nights, slow walks between the palms and the sound of water at the edge of the property.

  • 22 rooms set across roughly eight acres of coconut grove.
  • An 11-room treatment clinic on site, with resident vaidyas.

03SwaSwara

A journey inward, beside the Arabian Sea

Gokarna, Karnataka · Wellness · Ayurveda · Yoga & Meditation

SwaSwara stands on the headland above Om Beach at Gokarna, a stretch of coast still shaped more by pilgrims and fishing boats than by resorts. Laterite villas sit low among the trees, and the sea is a constant presence — heard from the courtyards long before it is seen.

Days combine yoga and meditation with Ayurveda and naturopathy, and guests are encouraged to add the things that rarely fit into ordinary weeks: painting, pottery, time in the gardens, walks along the sand at first light.

The intention is reconnection rather than repair. Guests tend to arrive tired and leave having relearned an unhurried rhythm, which is very much the point of the place.
